First make sure the width of the denim fabric you want to buy. If it is 30-33inches which means 0.76-0.84 meters, you will need 4 yards; if it is 1.5 meters wide, you will need about 1.1 meters. If the fabric is wider, the length required will also be less.

Due to the shrinkage problem of denim, denim jeans making factory normally will do shrinkage test before make a jean, and about half a yard of the denim fabric is used. If it is making a sample, it is expected to be 4 yards of fabric plus loss; when mass production of large quantities, it is expected to be 2.8-3 yards. This is for selvedge denim fabric; the sample size of ordinary denim is 2.5 meters; when mass production is expected, it is estimated to be 2 meters, and this is for ordinary denim with a width of 1.5 meters; there is wastage during the production process, so it is recommended to prepare more. Otherwise it will be quite embarrassing if there is not enough denim fabric, especially when making samples.

Generally speaking, larger jean pants sizes require more fabric.
